I whipped up this little stocking ornament for my #1 Sister in law, Vickie! I promised her I would make her one and then I forgot to mail it so I decided to personalize it with her initial! I hope she likes it!

Christmas Mini Stocking

Posted by Angela B. at 4:48 PM 0 comments

Another fun filled crafty week! This week I decided to do some cleaning and reorganizing in the craft room/home office. It is so cluttered and it drives me crazy! I took a couple of days to hang out with family or friends. Yesterday, I had my daughter take me to a place called North Pole City in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma US. Oh I could spend the night in there on Christmas Eve, what fun it would be! Such a beautiful store. I was surprised I did not see one Peanuts related ornament, or Disney for that matter, but what I had seen blew my mind! So many beautiful decorations, trees all decorated, and the most beautiful light displays. My daughter moved out for the first time back on April 1st, so this will be her first, very own Christmas tree. She is so excited. She bought a few things,  but to add to her beautiful whimsical selections, I decided to whip up some many stocking ornaments for her tree. She is doing a red, white, and silver tree, and she was lacking in the reds, so hopefully she will like these for her tree.

In 45 years of my lifetime, I had no idea how many people my mother taught to Crochet. Last year, at my Dads funeral I learned my Aunt Connie was also taught by my mother. I lived with my Dad for a year when I was 17, but we had holidays across the street at Uncle Billy and Aunt Connie’s home. I could arrive Christmas Eve, and my Aunt would somehow manage to have presents under her tree for me. They knew how to make a girl feel special. This particular year, good old 1989, my Aunt crocheted the cutest little stocking ornament in green for me, along with holiday hot pads, and a large stocking too! I still have that stocking today, but because of her, one of my first projects ever attempted were these adorable stockings. That was about 9 years ago, and here I am once again finally making a few more, but now in red. Aren’t they cute?

Crochet Mini Stocking

Posted by Angela B. at 4:46 PM 0 comments

I have spent most of today working on a set of six mini stocking ornaments for my daughters first Christmas in her new apartment. The longer I have these in my possession the cuter they become. Like the addition of the fur around the cuff. Isn’t it just wonderful!

These were the set of six when I On,y thought I had finished them.

This was the first stocking of the set.

Crochet Baby Stocking Hat

Posted by Angela B. at 4:51 PM 0 comments

Using my scrap yarn balls, I decided to whip up my first 🎩 Newborn baby hat to donate! It is supposed to be 70% purple shades. I think I managed, but sure would hate for them to toss it out because Of the colors. That would be 😭 sad! The goal here in Oklahoma is somewhere like 4300 baby hats, so if they accept they need 4299! :) My goal was to make  100 of them but I seem to have so many projects going on I have notes on top of notes to try to keep me on track and it still is not working! 😂!

Diaper cake Recieved

Posted by Angela B. at 10:20 AM 0 comments

A few days back I posted a photo of my latest diaper cake, and here it is, in its party setting awaiting the Mommy to be! Isn't it pretty! The young lady who asked me to put this together we have known since she was at least 6 years old. She was our neighbor, went to school with my children and became bestest of friends with my one and only daughter.
What a wonderful caring person she has grown up to be. She threw this baby shower for her co-worker who recently not only lost her own mother, but her Aunt in a very bad car accident. I can only imagine how devastating not having your mother there for you during your pregnancy and the future with her grand child. Very heartbreaking.
So our neighbor, sweet little caring person that she is not only gave her a shower but purchased the goodies for the diaper cake that I put together for her. She even tried to pay me for it, she is so sweet! Did I mention that? :)

Crochet King Size Afghan

Posted by Angela B. at 5:33 PM 0 comments

This Afghan sure feels like it has no end in sight. At the time, I was searching Pinterest for fun crochet projects for the holidays, something quick, cute and fun to make as 🎁 gifts! My plans changed when hubby kept catching me searching and searching and when I mentioned I was looking for a crochet project, he put me to work. We headed to Hobby Lobby for him to pick out his yarn for his Afghan. He picked Bernat Blanket Yarn, there were only 5 skeins, 4 in gray and 1 in white. We would need a lot more to make an Afghan large enough for someone six foot tall. He wants it to be around 80 x 100 inches! Yeah, I was freaked! I have never made anything that large before, so it kind of sounded fun. I had to buy the largest crochet hook I could find in the store for this one! My hubby wants an Afghan that his toes will not poke through. That calls for tight stitches. I have been working on it off and on for about 2 months now, I can only do so many rows before my fingers are cramped up. I don't know how My elders can do that large of projects over and over again making afghans for their entire families during the holidays. It is a lot of work! Be appreciative if you receive an Afghan from a loved one, they worked hard for you to have a warm hug year round! :)

Elephant Diaper Cake

Posted by Angela B. at 10:25 AM 0 comments

I love making these adorable diaper cakes, also called Nappy Cakes. This particular one is a custom order. My customer, who also happens to be my daughter's friend. They have been friends since about the age of 4 or 5 years old. She is like a daughter to me. When she called to ask if I could put together a diaper cake if she buys the goodies I was not about to say no! I think it turned out pretty cute! I added in some tissue paper carnations to help make that tissue paper stuffed filler a little prettier.

Do you want to know how to make tissue paper carnations? here is the link to the tutorial I used:

Crochet King SIze Afghan

Posted by Angela B. at 5:43 PM 0 comments

Hey there crafty friends! Among many afghans my hubby has requested this is one he was eager to buy the yarn for. Isn't it the most plush yarn you ever seen? So soft and squishy! I had already started it once, I had about six skeins on, and I was gaining stitches by the row, it was not keeping its rectangle shape. I frogged it, another words "rippit" all back out! It really had too many holes for hubby's taste anyways, so I was off to search for a new pattern and quick before he notices that I had  pullled it all out. I stumbled upon a free pattern from Yarnspirations.com using the same yarn. The pattern calls for an L hook, I chose an N, but wishing I had gone even larger on the hook size. Hubby wants it to overlap the king size bed. 80x100? Aye ye ye! Good thing I have many other crafts to keep me from going bonkers on crochet overload! So far I am starting my 3rd skein of Vinatge white Bernat Blanket yarn. $4.99 at Hobby Lobby.com only took two days to arrive with no extra shipping cost! I have 19 more skeins to go. He also requested  a border alternating between the white and a gray. He wants to keep me busy I think! Well off to go add on my goal of a skein a day! Wish me luck!

Crochet Round Table Mat

Posted by Angela B. at 5:56 PM 0 comments

I seriously need to turn my backyard patio from drab to fab, so why not start off with some colorful place mats! I have 3 more to go! I am making 4 in assorted colors. I am hoping it will give a cleaner feel to the patio and if anything bring some color to it! :D This particular pattern was very easy to work up as long as you remember to keep slip stitching to the center of the previous rounds shell stitches before starting the next round, you will do just fine! ;)  When I have them all finished I will return with an updated post of how they look! You might even get a before and after shot!

Do you crochet and want to try this pattern? It can be found here:

Crochet Green Mushroom

Posted by Angela B. at 6:31 PM 0 comments

I am working on making this mushroom small enough for a key chain. This was originally yarn off an attempted frog I decided not to pull out all the way and just started from a few yarns already worked and turned it into a green mushroom. It is about 3 x 3 inches so it really needs to be an inch smaller all the way around.
