This beautiful pattern was handmade by me. I found the crochet pattern in a Fruit of the Looms Crochet pattern Instruction leaflet No.113 from 1971. The original design is by Bella Scharf. I used Caron Simply Soft PARTY yarn. The color is called Silver Sparkle.

I will be attending Christmas Dinner tonight hosted by my sweet daughter. I am taking her this little handmade crochet candy cane ornament. She will be serving us game hens, loaded mashed potatoes, green beans with bacon and onion bits, plus a tasty cheese ball, little smokies and wine to snack and dine on while we wait for dinner.
The pattern can be found at

Trouble Crochet Cup Cozy

Cup Cozy for a special friend at work she works in the beauty department. She is 100% certified Trouble! Lol! We call each other Trouble #1 & Trouble #2, we don’t specify who is who, we seemed to be getting into trouble with our boss when we were together and we decided we were trouble for one another. Ha! I made her this cute cup cozy just for fun, I hope she likes it!

Crochet Handmade Ballerina Dancer

Posted by Angela B. at 5:19 PM 0 comments

I had a request to make a ballerina. So I thought I should practice. I found this adorable pattern

This is my version using Caron Simply Soft yarn and. G hook. I wanted to use yarn I already had in my stash. ;)

I think she turned out pretty cute. There are a few mishaps, for one her neck is floppy. For photo purposes I added a stick through her body that you cannot see. Photo tricks. I will place her on a display and see about purchasing doll making supplies to help me with keeping that neck up for the next one. Hope you like her. Please leave me some love below. I could use the encouragement!

Mug Rug- Take 1

Posted by Angela B. at 10:41 AM 0 comments

Hello friends and followers!

I let real life get in the way of crochet life. I had to go get a real J-O-B… yuck I know.
But as I get in the groove of my new routine, I have to try and find a way to break free from thinking about work 24/7 and driving my family crazy.  My daughter requested a macrame mug rug, but I have not learned macrame yet, so I attempted a crochet version with a skein of dish rag cotton yarn I have in my stash. This is a free pattern I found and I will place link at bottom of this post for you.

Crochet Raspberry Baby Beret

Posted by Angela B. at 9:46 AM 0 comments

Hello my friends and followers!

Today I am sharing my Raspberry Beret made as a custom order to their color preference. Isn’t it pretty? I had the Taffy Pink Beret in my Etsy shop to match a little Taffy Pink vest I made along with some baby booties, and a ruffle baby skirt with bloomers, and a wonderfully sweet customer asked what color it was, I told her it was a bubblegum taffy pink color, she wanted Raspberry. So I went on the hunt for Raspberry baby weight yarn to do this project. It took some searching to be able to get just a skein of Raspberry, it was out of stock, but if I bought a 10- skein package, well I would not have to wait until it was back in stock, so that was the route I took. I bought this yarn from LoveCrafts.com it is called Paintbox yarn and it comes in a variety of color choices. The yarn is 100% Acrylic, 3 weight, and Made in Turkey.

I was ecstatic that I not only found Raspberry yarn but now I can let the curious potential customer know that if I find the yarn I would make the item to their preferences without any obligation to them to purchase the item. Once I finished I would put the item up for sale in the shop and if they decided they wanted it, they would know it was going in shop before I even posted it for sale. :) It worked out wonderfully! She bought it as soon as it went live in shop, I had to quickly order polymailers from Amazon but they were here in two days which I still made my 3 - 5 day shipping. Yay! I had so much fun making this hat I ended up making 2 more and adding them to the shop.

But first to make my customer happy, I added in a special surprise free gift with her hat purchase. I hope she likes them! I added in matching Crochet Baby Booties as a special surprise free gift. They were nothing fancy, but she can add a beautiful ribbon, or sew in a decorative button on top if she likes.

I admit the free gift idea was my daughters. She opened a stationary/sticker shop on Etsy last month and has already made over $200. I guess stickers are a hit! I have only had 6 sales in almost 8 years. I guess handmade crochet items not so much of a hit. I will eventually find my niche and get a unique spot somewhere. Until then it is still a hobby and if I make some money that would be great! Even better if I was so busy I didn’t have to get a job outside of the house, I know that is too good to be true. LOL!

Crochet Bricks Blanket

Posted by Angela B. at 9:12 AM 0 comments

Afghan completed! Hooray!

I am using Bernat Blanket Yarn in gray. This pattern I found in the label. It is called Bricks Blanket

I made this afghan as a request from my daughter after she seen the King Sized afghan I made my husband in cream. It was a hand killer, so I decided on an easier pattern. Unfortunately I started with a larger hook in the beginning somehow went down a hook size through the middle and back to larger hook in the end, so it matches. It is warm and heavy weight perfect for those chilly winter nights.
