Despicable Me Minion

Posted by Angela B. at 8:50 PM 0 comments

I was so pleased to receive a crochet order for a minion in April. It took me a few months to narrow down the pattern and then the hands, oh boy, I could not figure out the pattern for the life of me so I went on my own there. I am so pleased the recipient was overjoyed to have received this fella, and she was surprised how large he turned out.

Pampering Massage Soap Saver

Posted by Angela B. at 7:02 PM 0 comments

I decided to make these 100 % Cotton Soap Savers for my POSH soap bars. They are fantastic! They get so soapy! It might be a good idea to remove the bar after each use. I did not and my bar looked kind of gross. But you can toss the soap saver in the washer and it comes out looking like new every time!

I found this great pattern by Tamara Kelly from Moogly

Crochet Batman Lovey

Posted by Angela B. at 9:43 PM 0 comments

I am loving how it turned out in the end after all the trouble I had with trying to make a Batman stuffy shaped head. I decided to scratch that and just settle for the emblem. I crocheted an oval and then by using felt cut out the bat shaped symbol and adhered it to HeatnBond creating a patch to iron onto the gold oval. It worked like a charm!

Stay tuned for pictures of the upcoming batman ensemble on a real live newborn baby!

My first doily using thread is complete! A friend requested two doilies a year ago and I have finally finished the smaller of the two! It feels good to have this project complete and for it to have turned out so beautifully!

I used a free pattern that you will find here:

Crochet Curling

Posted by Angela B. at 9:04 AM 0 comments

So I made it to round 13 or so and it started to curl up on me around the edges. The pattern was for a 5 inch circle and I hadn't thought about maybe needing to add some extra stitches in to keep it flat until now. Eek! I have to rip it back out a few rows until just before it started curling, after my two shell stitches I chain two right now and I am going to change that to chaining 3 between my shell stitches. Crossing fingers this works out! I hope to get to at least a 20 inch round doily, wish me luck!

Crochet Doily Begins

Posted by Angela B. at 9:24 AM 0 comments

Today I have been attempting a doily for the second time. The first one I

fastened off and decided on calling it a doily for myself I messed up

somewhere on it. I was given an order a year ago for two doilies. It has

taken me this long to scratch my original pattern idea and try one

easier. Besides that missed stitch at beginning of last round I was doing

pretty good. Time to rip that last round out and do it over. Onward

March!

Crochet Lazy Daisy Fingerless Gloves

Posted by Angela B. at 12:50 PM 0 comments

Finally the last set of instructions for the second beginner's crochet a long have been given in the Beginner's Crochet Group on Facebook.  We made these beautiful hand/wristers! I ended up with two pairs one pair that came out larger than the other so I gave them to a friend that has larger hands, I also gave her a matching ear warmer to go with them. This pair as of right now are added into my collection of items that I will either keep, sell or give away.
When I decided on a crochet a long project for the group as I am the administrator, it was winter time here in Oklahoma. It is now Spring with high 80's on the ten day forecast. Oh well its still winter in some parts of the country! :)
