Handkerchief for Dad

Posted by Angela B. at 10:09 AM 0 comments

After a couple trial and errors making this design I finally had one turn out perfect! My Dad has always been the guy to have a hanky in his pocket. So I thought what would be more fitting than a custom monogrammed hanky?

First off I ran out of bobbin thread during my first attempt so after I changed the bobbin I had issues with the loopity loo's and how thick the thread was coming out onto the hanky versus the way it went so smoothly on the first try. I found out that on my SE-400 Embroidery machine I had put my bobbin in upside down! I even looked at the picture drawings and thought I was doing it right.  The great thing about Facebook there are a lot of groups to ask questions so I posted this picture and asked what am I doing wrong. That is when I found out that my bobbin may be in wrong. Flipped that baby over changed out the thread just to have the same color spool as the bobbin. I was so pleased to see that it was not the machine.

Crochet Purple Dragon

Posted by Angela B. at 1:24 PM 0 comments

For my best friends' sons Christmas present I made this adorable friendly little purple dragon scarf! I merged two patterns I found online and changed what were horns into ears and gave him some hair to make him look just that much friendlier! My only complaint would be that he is not quite long enough and if I were to actually expect anyone to use this as a scarf I would make it longer, otherwise I think any child would love to have him as a companion!

Crochet Snowflake Hotpad

Posted by Angela B. at 1:26 PM 0 comments

I would like to start this post by saying Happy New Year! What better way to start the New Year with a post about what you might need while making your New Years dinner. I am talking about this beautiful Snowflake Hotpad! I made this hotpad for my partner in the Winter Themed monthly hotpad swap. You cannot tell in the photos but the blue yarn has sparkles and it just pulls at me and I seriously do not want to give it up! But I am going to, I can always make another right?
