Crochet Elephant Applique

 

I made an elephant lovey as a request for a friend, and to add a special touch to this previously made hat I decided to add an elephant Applique  and give it as a set with the lovey.

Dinosaur Afghan

A young lady I met 12 years ago when she was just a teenager had her second baby this summer. The new little tike received a Mickey Newborn themed outfit and an elephant themed afghan. The 3 year old big sister has taken a liking to the afghan, so I was asked to make her one. Luckily I had an afghan stashed away, so I made her requested dinosaur themed afghan. I hope she likes it!

Crochet Christmas Mystery CAL

 

I thought it would be a good idea to polish my crochet skills with small projects, like Crochet-A-Longs so that I can see if I am doing it right. This was such a fun CAL to participate in. Giving you the 5 different designs to add to a stocking, a holiday afghan or even turn into a garland if you like. These projects warmed my heart to make. The pattern was written by Teri Heathcote from Knot Your Nana's Crochet.

These little projects are great for my practicing of holding my hook and yarn to develop my tension. I think I may be holding it too tight though. But still it almost looks like the photo for the pattern. ;)

I just love how this butterfly turned out. It is so pretty!

 This was so fun to make. I just adore him! I gave this to my daughters best friend even though I became quite attached to the little fellow. He was just so cute and crazy eyed, that I just loved him!

Are they not the cutest little bunnies ever! Glued plastic google eyes and a cotton tail to these little babies. 

Crochet Shamrock Pin

 

I had to make this pattern as soon as I seen it. My mother turned me onto the special Luck of the clover and shamrocks. She had several her mother had found placed in a special book. My mother could spot them so fast and when I was growing up I never could find one, but I tried you bet I tried hard! It wasn’t until my husband and I took up camping did I truly discover the joy of spotting those lucky 4 leaf clovers. Found 13 once, let me tell you it was definitely not lucky! Our house caught fire that summer while we were out traveling the country on our camping trip. That actually happens in June of this year. Since I am back posting this I already know that it happens at this point. But due to our love of the clover for generations I had to crochet quite a few of these to pass out to friends and family. I also kept finding clovers after our camp out and decided I would give them to any friends I met at the campgrounds for good luck. We ended up losing our camper due to financial hardships.. did I mention I have the worst of luck…lol!
