Crochet Holiday Chimpanzee

Posted by Angela B. at 12:30 PM 0 comments

My first crochet swap item finished. Isn't he so cute! I am going to have a hard time parting with him. He was originally supposed to be a Sock Monkey Ornament from a Red Heart yarn pattern I found online, but I turned him into a winter chimp! I even made the little pom pom for his hat! I am so pleased with how he turned out he's so adorable! I am thinking he may stay here with me and I may make something else to send for the swap. I have always had a soft spot for monkey's. :)

I know what an odd item to make. But it is what we were told to make for our Crochet Swap partners. I decided to go with a cherry theme to match the hot pad I made. I have a thing for wanting to send a set of something instead of just one item to swap.

This bag was so fun to make! I think mine came out larger than expected, but besides that, what a fun pattern.

Crochet Fireside Formality Afghan

Posted by Angela B. at 8:47 PM 0 comments

Where is my afghan, he asks. So I decided to go my own way and made my husband his first afghan. Yes it works as an afghan, but it is not square, the different brands in yarn fibers made it stretchy in some areas more than others. If you don't practice you cannot get better though. This pattern is written by Spool Cotton Co. Afghans Book239 the original Copyright was 1948. You can find this pattern at freevintagecrochet.com/afghan-patterns/spool239/fireside-formality-afghan-pattern

This little Hippo was made for my Friendship Crochet Swap partner. She likes Hippos, so I made a Hippopotamus for Christmas. The pattern was from Lion Brand Yarn, Leisure Arts Vanna's Choice Easy Crochet Critters
